Hello!
I’m writing this the day before my book is released, but if you’re reading this, it is out and available right now!
A little bit about me and The Last 19 Days,
I started writing The Last 19 Days in the spring of 2022 with an idea born from a bizarre dream as a challenge to let myself be creative without perfectionism getting in the way. Ever since I can remember, I’ve created fictional worlds and stories in my mind, but I always managed to find a reason not to commit. Writing this book was the first time I’ve truly given myself permission to explore my ideas unapologetically, without fear of doing it “wrong.”
That being said, some of my favorite parts of this project were all of the collaborative efforts that my best friend, Stephanie, and I put into workshopping ideas and editing. We worked together chapter by chapter, as I wrote, and after the story was finished. She helped me significantly improve my output as I went along, making the final edits much easier to work with, and the end result has exceeded all my expectations of what I could create as an amateur writer. On top of that, I can’t go without mentioning Stephanie’s poetry! Early on I asked her if she wanted to contribute some poetry based on the story, and I adore every single one of them. I’m very lucky to have such a creative and helpful person in my life, and thankful that she wanted to work with me.
The final stretch leading up to publishing has been truly surreal. I can’t describe how excited I am to finally put my work out into the world!
Thanks for reading, and if you’ve gotten this far, you should probably buy my book now.
